Although there is no official survey on the usage of cotton
spinning rings and their manufacturers in China, it is generally
regarded that the most popular cotton
spinning rings currently used in Chinese
textile mills as well as in
Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Viet Nam and those countries
who import quite a number of Chinese ring spinning frames, are
normal steel ring, made of steel No.20 with
carbonitriding, surface hardness HV800 only. It is widely
accepted that such kind of conventional or
normal
steel ring service life of 8 to 14 months, which
greatly depends on spun yarn
type and yarn count, ring
travelers adopted, spindle speed and working conditions as well,
of course it also counts on various quality of
normal
steel ring produced by different
spinning rings makers in China.
However, with a trend of increasing import of cotton spinning
frames, and export of cotton yarn,
imported spinning rings
becomes popular as well in China. The imported
spinning rings might have a
service life more than three years, produce less hairiness,
stable balloon, better CV value, thus have attracted many
Chinese textile mills
especially those export-oriented spinning mills who produce
high-end cotton yarn.
Analyses show that imported spinning
rings are made of wear-resistant alloy steel of
hi-chrome, and bearing steel of hi-carbon and hi-chrome, ring
surface hardness reaches HV1000 and above, no longer steel No.20
is used in Japan, Switzerland and Germany in which those high
quality of spinning ring such as Kanai,
Bracker, R&F have been produced. Nevertheless it
doesn’t mean the spinning ring makers in China have no reaction.
Based on the research and analyses, we have selected a proper
alloy steel to make our own brand of DL
Alloy Steel Ring, test in the selected
textile mills have achieved
satisfactory results in the aspects below as compared with
normal
steel ring:
1. longer service life, 3 years minimum vs. 8 to 14 months
2. hairiness 10m-1: drops gradually 15 to 20% to a stable value
in the service life vs. stable in certain value but abruptly
increase by the end of service life.
3. free of maintenance in three years vs regrinding during 8 to
14 months
4. less yarn breakage
5. stable ring traveler circling
6. stable yarn tension
7. free spun yarn channel
In conclusion, to increase carbon content and hardness of steel
and decrease friction factor will finally enhance the
spinning rings'
wear-resistant property, extend its service life.
